How to choose the right verification solution:
Cognex has three solutions to do code verification:
- Standard verifier (475V and 8072V)
- SBG
- PCM
What are the differences between them?
PCM:
- Code quality relative verification
- No calibration
- No standard lighting
- Verification result can only used for internal reference
- Different lines maybe have different result
SBG:
- Use ISO Reference Decode Algorithm
- Calibration selectable
- No standard lighting
- Report will list all the parameters result according to ISO15415 and ISO29158 except lighting
Standard Verifier:
- Absolute verification conform to ISO standards
- Calibration needed
- Both hardware and software are compliant with ISO standard
- Report will list all the parameters result according to ISO15415 and ISO29158

How to choose most suitable solution ?
- Confirm with customer that they need relative verification or absolute verification, If they need absolute verification, please recommend 475V and 8072V
- If they don't need absolute verification, we can recommend DataMan 290 and DataMan 390 with SBG
- If the customer had DataMan 280 on hand, they can use PCM directly, if they want to better verification result, we can add SBG for them
- If the customer had DataMan 260 on hand, we can recommend PCM
