What is the purpose of this patch?
This patch is intended to fix problems with Cognex VisionPro software running after updating Microsoft Windows 11 with security update KB5077181. With the security update installed, VisionPro QuickBuild will not launch, and custom applications using the VisionPro API may also suffer similar issues when trying to launch. Note that Windows optional update KB5074105 can also be affected by this issue but will be less common because it was rolled up into KB5077181.
Which versions of VisionPro are affected?
VisionPro versions 9.20 – 9.25 and VisionPro Core version 25.2.0 can be affected by this issue.
What do I need to do to apply the patch?
Apply this patch after running the VisionPro installer on your system. It will automatically detect which VisionPro version you are running and update appropriately. Note that if you are intending to use the VisionPro GPU Supplement with your VisionPro you should install the GPU Supplement before installing this patch. If the patch was installed first you will need to repair it or uninstall and re-install it to be sure the patch is properly applied.
What happens if I need to switch VisionPro versions?
If you need to switch which version of VisionPro is installed on your system you should first uninstall the patch and then uninstall the current version of VisionPro. You can then install the replacement version of VisionPro and then install the patch again to patch the replacement version.
