In-Sight 7000 Gen2 Hardware I/O Configurations
There are several options for connecting the In-Sight 7000 Gen2 series vision system's trigger, inputs, outputs, serial and power.
Breakout Cable Only
The vision system is connected to the Breakout cable (CCB-PWRIO- xx or CCB-PWRIO- xxR) and a Direct I/O connection has been established in the I/O Module Configuration dialog. In this configuration:
- The Breakout cable supplies power to the vision system.
- There is no connection to an I/O module.
- Direct I/O is selected in the I/O Module Configuration dialog.
- The vision system supports bi-directional high-speed outputs and general-purpose inputs for IN 2 / HS OUT 2 and IN 3 / HS OUT 3. These lines are configured as outputs by default.

Breakout Cable and CIO-MICRO I/O Module
The vision system is connected to the Breakout cable (CCB-PWRIO- xx or CCB-PWRIO- xxR) and an Ethernet connection to a CIO-MICRO I/O module has been established in the I/O Module Configuration dialog. In this configuration:
- The Breakout cable supplies power to the vision system.
- CIO-MICRO is selected in the I/O Module Configuration dialog.
- The vision system supports bi-directional high-speed outputs and general-purpose inputs for IN 2 / HS OUT 2 and IN 3 / HS OUT 3. These lines are configured as outputs by default.
- The CIO-MICRO I/O module's TRIGGER+, TRIGGER-, HS OUT 0, HS OUT 1 and HS COMMON terminals are not supported. Do not connect wire leads from remote devices to these terminals.
- The RS-232 TRANSMIT and RS-232 RECEIVE pins on the Breakout cable are disabled. Use the I/O module's RS-232 OUT port (DB9) to connect to a serial device.

I/O Module Cable and CIO-MICRO I/O Module
The vision system is connected to the I/O Module cable (CCB-PWRIO-MOD-xx) and an Ethernet connection to a CIO-MICRO I/O module has been established in the I/O Module Configuration dialog. In this configuration:
- The I/O module cable supplies power to the vision system.
- CIO-MICRO is selected in the I/O Module Configuration dialog.
- The vision system's IN 1, IN 2, IN 3, HS OUT 2 and HS OUT 3 lines are displayed in the Discrete I/O Settings dialog but are not supported. These lines are only supported when the vision system is connected to the Breakout cable.
- TRIGGER+, TRIGGER-, HS OUT 0, HS OUT 1 and HS COMMON are connected via the CIO-MICRO I/O module terminals.
- Illumination accessories attached to the vision system faceplate or LIGHT connector are not supported. If these illumination accessories are attached, the Breakout cable must be used to supply power to the vision system and a connection to the I/O module established via Ethernet only.
