Presence/Absence Tools - Pixel Count
The Pixel Count Presence/Absence Tool determines whether or not a feature is present or absent, based upon the number of the white or black pixels in the region, and reports that value.
The tool computes the optimal greyscale threshold value - 0 to 255 - that separates the image between white and black pixels, and then performs a count of the pixels that fall above or below that threshold (depending upon the settings).
The Pixel Count Presence/Absence Tool is useful in situations where you need to determine whether or not a feature is present or absent, based upon the number of white or black pixels in a region. For example, verifying that the right amount of solder has been dispensed around a circuit board lead, or verifying the presence of a complete inkjet text string on a label.
