Image Menu: EasyBuilder View

The Image menu allows you to perform operations that relate to the image shown in the display area.

Note: The following options of the Image menu are available only when an EasyBuilder View is the active window.
  • Trigger: Acquires one new image from the active In-Sight sensor.
  • Repeating Trigger: Images are continuously acquired to help you verify that your application is working as expected against live images.

    Note:
    • Repeating Trigger is not available on vision systems running In-Sight 4.x.x firmware.
    • This functionality is available in all Application Steps.
    • To exit this mode, click the Repeating Trigger button in the Job Display toolbar, or select Repeating Trigger from the Image menu again.
  • Live Video: Displays a live video image to use when making adjustments to the sensor's lens and the field of view. It also launches the Focus Metric, which is used to help determine an image focus score, indicating the degree to which the image, or a Region of the image, includes the smallest resolvable features in a "scene" (i.e., the object and its background, as captured in the image). To exit this mode, click the Live Video button in the context pane in the Set Up Image step, click the Live Video button in the Job Display toolbar, or click on the image.

    Note:
    • This functionality is available in all Application Steps.
    • To provide relevant data, the Focus Metric score should be compared against another Focus Metric score from the same, exact scene (the scenes being identical).
    • The Focus Metric can be turned off by pressing the Focus Metric icon in the Job Display toolbar when the image is in Live Video mode, or selecting the Focus Metric option in the View menu.
  • Record: Records acquired images to the user-specified Record Folder. Recording works in Online and Offline modes. For more information, see Record/Playback Options Dialog: EasyBuilder View.

    Note:
    • Images cannot be recorded in Live Video mode.
    • If Record is selected during playback, the images being played back are recorded to the Record folder, Good folder or Bad folder, depending on the sorting parameters specified in the Record/Playback Options dialog. The images are recorded with the same name as the images stored in the Playback folder.
  •  Playback: Selects an image for playback. For more information, see Record/Playback Options Dialog: EasyBuilder View.
    • First Image: Go to the first image stored in the Playback Folder.
    • Previous Image: Go to the previous image stored in the Playback Folder.
    • Play: Play all images stored in the Playback Folder.

Note: To allow the playback of images when a sensor is in Online mode, the Trigger parameter in the Set Up Image step must be set to External,Manual or Network.
    • Next Image: Go to the next image stored in the Playback Folder.
    • Last Image: Go to the last image stored in the Playback Folder.
  • Record/Playback Options: Accesses the Record/Playback Options dialog, which allows you to designate a folder to store recorded images, designate a folder of recorded images to play back, specify the maximum number of images stored, view the current number of images stored, sort images to different folders based on the quality of the image, set the image resolution of recorded images, select the filename format of recorded images and set the Playback mode and delay for playback of recorded images. For more information, see Record/Playback Options Dialog: EasyBuilder View.
  • Zoom: Changes the magnification level of the background image.
    • Zoom In: Increase zoom magnification by one level on the image.
    • Zoom Out: Decrease zoom magnification by one level on the image.
    • Zoom 1:1: Maps one image pixel per one PC display pixel.
    • Zoom to Max: Increases zoom to the maximum magnification.
    • Zoom to Fill: Fills the window with the image. No visible border will appear.
    • Zoom to Fit: Fits the entire image inside the window.

      Note:
      • Zoom 1:1, Zoom to Max, Zoom to Fit and Zoom to Fill are mutually exclusive.
      • The zoom ratio for Zoom to Fit and Zoom to Fill adjusts automatically when the window is resized.
  • Orientation: Selects the orientation at which the acquired image will be displayed. The highlighted image orientation icon indicates the current selection. This setting is for display purposes only and does not affect how the image is acquired from the sensor, how the vision tools process the image or how images are stored to and loaded from files on the PC. Consequently, the displayed orientation can be changed at any time without affecting the results produced by the job. This setting is stored in the job file, so each job may be configured to display images in a particular orientation.
    • Normal
    • Rotate Clockwise 90°
    • Rotate 180°
    • Rotate Clockwise 270°

Note: When an image is saved to a file, it is saved in its original acquired orientation.
  • Show Brightness Feedback: Enables/disables the highlighting of pixels in the image with a grey level less than or equal to the Low Saturation Level (in blue) and greater than or equal to the High Saturation Level (in red). For more information, see Options Dialog.
