Interactive Graphics Mode

The parameters for many In-Sight functions, particularly Vision Tools, can be configured by adjusting an interactive graphic on top of the image. These can be used to set the size, position, and rotation for a Region of Interest (ROI), or for training a model region.

You can adjust an interactive graphic from any spreadsheet cell that contains a function with a corresponding graphic, as well as from any parameter's value with a corresponding graphic on a property sheet. Interactive graphics mode can be accessed in either standard view or a WebPage HMI, as permitted by the user's access level.

Note: If a function's Region parameter contains Cell References, the Region cannot be edited graphically. The cell reference must be cleared before you can enter Interactive Graphics Mode.

Using Interactive Graphics Mode

  1. Select a spreadsheet cell or property sheet value with an associated interactive graphic.

    Note: The Edit Cell Graphic icon will appear grayed out when their corresponding functions are not available in the current context.

  2. There are four methods for entering Interactive Graphics Mode:

    • Select the parameter that contains the graphic (e.g. Region) and press F9.
    • Press the button on the Spreadsheet Editor's Job Edit toolbar.
    • From the property sheet, click the Edit Cell Graphic button on the property sheet's toolbar.
    • Select the parameter that contains the graphic (e.g. Region), right-click and select Edit Graphic.
  3. The spreadsheet overlay or property sheet will disappear, and the interactive graphic will be displayed on top of the image. There are six types of interactive graphics modes: annulus, regions, circles, crosses, points, and lines. The type of Interactive Graphics Mode icon displayed in the interactive graphic depends on the type of input required by the cell or value.
  4. If you would like to accept the modifications, then press ENTER or icon in the toolbar. The graphic will appear (in red, by default) over the image, but beneath the semitransparent spreadsheet. To cancel the modifications, press ESC or in the toolbar. Once you accept the changes, the new values will automatically be entered into the cell formula or the property sheet value from which interactive graphics mode was accessed.
