Content Summary

With this release, verification algorithms are merged onto the In-Sight platform and the beginning of verification solutions combined with vision tools.

With this release, verification algorithms are merged onto the In-Sight platform and the beginning of verification solutions combined with vision tools. This software version enables standards-based grading (SBG) on the IS7905, IS8505, and IS9912 ‘-383’ models. This advancement allows verification customers to leverage the 21 CFR Part 11 features, OCR, and dimensioning on vision tools and provides more reliable barcode quality management to current vision customers than PCM.

  • SBG is only available to be purchased on specific models (-383 In-Sights) with the TruCheck feature bit.
    • This feature bit cannot be added to existing, non-383 In-Sight models in the field.
    • Note:  Existing internal Sales model 7/8/9xxx In-Sights will have access to TruCheck
  • Only In-Sight 6.3.x firmware releases should be used for TruCheck -383 cameras.
    • The general In-Sight release path (6.4 and beyond) will not contain the TruCheck toolset.

VERIFICATION RELEASE NOTES:

  • ‘TruCheckIDVerification’ spreadsheet tool
  • Calibration process (‘CalibrateTruCheck’ spreadsheet tool)
  • Full HTML reporting
  • TruCheck 1D & 2D spreadsheet snippets for quick setup

WHAT IS STANDARDS-BASED GRADING?

Standards-Based Grading (SBG) is a software feature key that can be preloaded or activated on select DataMan fixed-mount barcode readers and In-Sight Vision systems to grade the quality of 1D and 2D barcodes. SBG uses the same verification grading algorithms, calibration process, and software user interface as DataMan verifiers but does not include the fixed angle lighting required in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines. SBG is ideal to use when existing barcode quality software, such as process control metrics (PCM), is not reliable enough.
