This sample project demonstrates a 3D inspection application designed to evaluate sandwich-style cookies in a food production environment. The inspection focuses on ensuring consistent product quality by verifying the presence and correct volume of cream filling and detecting common defects such as cracks, chipping and missing or tilted top layers.
The solution uses a combination of 3D vision tools including plane estimation for a stable surface reference, height analysis to measure cookie lid tilt and detect cracks and a volume calculation tool to confirm the correct amount of filling.
The project showcases how to reliably reject non compliant products while maintaining high inspection accuracy in a fast paced production line.
