Question
When I remove my DM8000-series Wi-Fi or Bluetooth reader (DM8050 / DM8600) from the Base Station, it sometimes takes too long for the wireless connection to re-establish. What can I do to improve this?
Answer
This delay often occurs because the scanner briefly switches to USB-detection mode when placed in or removed from the Base Station. You can prevent this behavior by disabling the USB connection pins on the bottom of the scanner’s grip handle.
Using the Reader Configuration Codes provided in the attached PDF, you can disable USB pin detection. Once disabled:
The reader and the IBase will no longer attempt to detect a USB connection.
Charging functionality remains fully intact.
The wireless connection stays active at all times, resulting in faster reconnection when the scanner is removed from the Base Station.
