Templates
Templates are used to import and export user-created components to better allow team collaboration between users. Templates allow users to store existing elements, or groups of elements, in the dedicated user library for later use in other projects.
- Items within the application can be exported to a project independent template.
- Items within the template library can be imported into a new project.
There is a dedicated template directory within the user directory where users can export and store their own templates. Templates in this directory are automatically loaded at start up. By default, this directory is located at: <MyDocuments>\Cognex Designer\Templates\<templatename>.cdtx
Note:
- Multiple user directories can be created, in addition to the default (Tools\Options\Templates). For more information, see the Templates Window topic.
- The template file extension, .cdtx, was updated in Cognex Designer 2.1 (formerly .cdt). Only files with the .cdtx extension will be visible in the Templates Window.
