In-Sight 7000 Gen2 Series I/O Lines

Note:
  • The In-Sight 76xx - 79xx series vision system supports connecting the Breakout cable and the CIO-MICRO I/O module simultaneously. For supported hardware I/O configurations, see In-Sight 7000 Gen2 Hardware I/O Configurations.
  • IN 1, IN 2 and IN 3 are built-in inputs, direct from the vision system.Direct (built-in) inputs are only supported when the vision system is connected to the Breakout cable.
  • HS OUT 0, HS OUT 1, HS OUT 2 and HS OUT 3 are built-in high-speed outputs, direct from the vision system.
  • The vision system supports the Strobe signal type for the HSOUT 1 line.
  • If connecting an external strobe device to the In-Sight 76xx - 79xx series vision system's External Light cable or if connecting an illumination accessory to the vision system faceplate, use the Light Settings dialog to configure the light settings. For more information, see In-Sight 76xx - 79xx Series Light Settings.

Direct I/O

Note: The vision system supports bi-directional high-speed outputs and general-purpose inputs for IN 2 / HS OUT 2 and IN 3 / HS OUT 3. These lines are configured as outputs by default.

CIO-MICRO

Note:
  • When the vision system is connected to the Breakout cable and an Ethernet connection to a CIO-MICRO I/O module has been established:
    • The vision system supports bi-directional high-speed outputs and general-purpose inputs for IN 2 / HS OUT 2 and IN 3 / HS OUT 3. These lines are configured as outputs by default.
    • The CIO-MICRO I/O module's TRIGGER+, TRIGGER-, HS OUT 0, HS OUT 1 and HS COMMON terminals are not supported. Do not connect wire leads from remote devices to these terminals.
    • The RS-232 TRANSMIT and RS-232 RECEIVE pins on the Breakout cable are disabled. Use the I/O module's RS-232 OUT port (DB9) to connect to a serial device.
  • When the vision system is connected to the CIO-MICRO I/O module via the I/O Module cable:
    • The vision system's IN 1, IN 2, IN 3, HS OUT 2 and HS OUT 3 lines are displayed in the Discrete I/O Settings dialog but are not supported. These lines are only supported when the vision system is connected to the Breakout cable.
    • TRIGGER+, TRIGGER-, HS OUT 0, HS OUT 1 and HS COMMON are connected via the CIO-MICRO I/O module terminals.
    • Illumination accessories attached to the vision system faceplate or LIGHT connector are not supported. If these illumination accessories are attached, the Breakout cable must be used to supply power to the vision system and a connection to the I/O module established via Ethernet only.

CIO-1400

Note:
  • When connected to the CIO-1400 I/O module, the vision system's IN 1, IN 2, IN 3, HS OUT 2 and HS OUT 3 lines are not supported.
  • The CIO-1400 I/O module supports the In-Sight 76xx - 79xx series vision system using In-Sight Explorer 5.4.0 and higher. If you log onto the vision system using an earlier version of In-Sight Explorer, connect to the CIO-1400 I/O module and configure the I/O lines, the changes will not be retained.
