EasyBuilder Sample Jobs and Sample Images

EasyBuilder includes a collection of sample jobs and images that demonstrate how Location and Inspection Tools are used in certain situations, and illustrate ways to position region graphics to optimize searches and strategies for fixturing tools.

The EasyBuilder sample jobs also provide a powerful demonstration of the Record/Playback options. The Record/Playback options enable a series of previously acquired images to be cycled through, providing instant feedback of tool results, allowing for quick configuration of thresholds and limits. Ideally, when designing a machine vision application, a collection of images are acquired which demonstrate a wide range of "good" and "bad" images of your inspection. The application is then designed around the "good" image, and the other images provide a means for establishing the range of acceptable values. Load an EasyBuilder Sample Job

To use the EasyBuilder sample jobs, you need to load a sample job and its accompanying images.

From the Get Connected step, connect to your local emulator or In-Sight vision system. Press the Open Job button in the Load Job section.
From the Open dialog, navigate to your In-Sight Explorer EasyBuilder Sample Jobs directory. The default location is C:\Users\Public\Documents\Cognex\In-Sight\In-Sight Explorer x.x.x.
Choose a sample job to load.
Once the sample job is loaded, you need to load the corresponding sample images.

Load EasyBuilder Sample Images

Launch the Record/Playback Options dialog. There are two options for launching this dialog:
- Option 1: From the EasyBuilder toolbar, click the icon.
- Option 2: Click the Set Up Image application step and press the Load Images from PC button in the Acquire/Load Image section.
The Record/Playback Options dialog should automatically open with the Playback tab presented. If not, click on the Playback tab.
From the Playback Folder section, press the Browse button to launch the Browse for Folder dialog. Navigate to the Sample Jobs > EasyBuilder directory, and select the same folder that you specified when loading the sample job. Press the OK button to continue.
The Playback Folder should now display the directory that you specified, and the Image Count indicates the number of images in the directory. Press the OK button in the Record/Playback Options dialog to continue.
Now that the sample job and sample images are aligned, you can go to the Run Job step and press the button in the EasyBuilder toolbar to watch the inspection tools perform, or go to the Locate Part or Inspect Part steps to see how the tools were modified for the application.
