Edges Counting Tool - Graph

The Graph is a representation of the first derivative of the grayscale values contained in the region; peaks and valleys represent the major edge transitions.

For the tools that detect edges (Edge and Circle tools), the Score axis is a measure of how closely the found edge matches the defined parameters:

  • A positive score indicates that the edge transitions from dark to light;
  • A negative score indicates that the edge transitions from light to dark;
  • A score of 0 indicates that no edge was detected.

The Offset axis refers to the region defining the edge feature, with 0 representing the beginning boundary of the region, and the other value representing the maximum width (in pixels) of the region. The apex of the peaks or valleys along the Offset axis indicates the position of the found edge.

Note: The graph will be displayed regardless of the Online/Offline status and the pass/fail state of the tool. However, if the tool is failing, the graph may not update.
