Bead Finder Defect Detection Tool - Find Bead Tab
When the Find Bead tab is selected, the tool will display graphics relevant to locating the bead feature. The tool will display all of the detected edges, outlined in dark green; the selected edge candidates (which are indicated by small, color coded circles) within the region (which can be selected and adjusted); and the location of the bead as a blue polyline.
You can adjust the parameters to isolate the desired edges and edge candidates that will be used to construct the polyline path that outlines the bead feature.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the number of pixels, per Caliper, that are to be analyzed along the direction of the inspection to find the bead feature (1 - 639; default = 8).
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the distance, in pixels, between the end of one Caliper and the start of the next Caliper (-1 - 639; default = 0).
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the pixel distance (1 - 10; default = 3) over which an edge transition takes place. This setting helps filter noise from the image.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the minimum greyscale contrast transition (1 - 255; default = 10) to be considered an edge.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the direction in which the tool will attempt to detect edges, relative to the region (Left-to-Right, Right-to-Left, Center Outward or Outside In; default = Left-to-Right).
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the transition of the first detected edge (Dark-to-Light, Light-to-Dark or Either; default = Either). For increased accuracy and speed, specify the type of transition.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the transition of the second detected edge (Dark-to-Light, Light-to-Dark or Either; default = Either). For increased accuracy and speed, specify the type of transition.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines whether or not the first edge detected receives the highest consideration when determining whether or not an edge candidate meets the criteria to be considered an edge (by default, this setting is enabled).
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines whether or not the edge with the strongest contrast transition receives the highest consideration when determining whether or not an edge candidate meets the criteria to be considered an edge (by default, this setting is enabled).
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the upper limit of the edge contrast transition (2 - 255; default = 255) to be considered an edge; edges with an edge contrast transition above this value will have the same highest score.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines whether or not the edge pair detected with the size closest to the Pair Size parameter receives the highest consideration when determining whether or not an edge candidate meets the criteria to be considered an edge (by default, this setting is disabled).
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines a scoring threshold to filter out edges with scores (0 - 255; default = 10) lower than this value.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Displays the total number of Calipers within the region.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines which individual Caliper to isolate and display.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines whether or not all of the Calipers within the region are displayed at all times; by default, the Calipers are hidden.
