Blob and Blobs (1-10) Location Tool - Settings Tab
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the mode for determining the grayscale value that is used to separate blobs from the background. When Auto is selected (default = Auto), each time an image is acquired, the tool adjusts for changes in brightness from image to image. When Manual is selected, you manually enter and adjust the value.

Defines the grayscale value that is used to separate blobs from the background (0 - 255, when enabled). This control is Off by default, and requires that the Threshold Mode be set to Manual to be enabled. Use the Histogram to set an optimal value for your application.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the color of the blob (Black, White, or Either; default = Either).
- Either = There is no blob color requirement.
- Black = Only returns blobs that are below the Blob Threshold.
- White = Only returns blobs that are above the Blob Threshold.

Defines one of two ways of managing blobs that intersect the blob's region boundary (default = Off, unchecked):
- Unchecked – Does not include blobs that intersect the region boundary; i.e. the blob must be located entirely within the region to be detected.
- Checked – Includes blobs that intersect the region boundary; i.e. blobs that intersect, as long as they match the other criteria, are detected.

Defines a maximum area restriction, in number of pixels (0 to 900000; default = 100000), for all detected blobs; only blobs whose area is less than the Maximum Area will be recognized.

Defines whether or not to account for the angular orientation of the centroid of the blob (default = On, checked).

Defines the number of blobs that should be detected (1-10; default = 1). Most applications only require a single fixture, however, multiple blobs can be located, which is useful in applications where there is more than one part or object in the image. The more blobs the tool is asked to identify, the longer the tool’s execution time.

Defines how the tool will measure and sort the found blobs (Area, Row, Col, Grid: Row then Col from Fixture, Grid: Col then Row from Fixture, Distance from Fixture Origin, Angle (CCW) from Fixture Row Axis, Angular Distance; default = Area):
- Area = Sorts by the areas of the found blobs, from largest to smallest.
- Row = Sorts by distance along the row image-axis, from closest to furthest, in descending order.
- Col = Sorts by distance along the column image-axis, from closest to furthest, in descending order.
- Grid: Row then Col from Fixture = Sorts by distance along the Fixture's row image-axis first, and then by distance along the column image-axis, from closest to furthest, in descending order.
- Grid: Col then Row from Fixture = Sorts by distance along the Fixture's column image-axis first, and then by distance along the row image-axis, from closest to furthest, in descending order.
- Distance from Fixture Origin = Sorts by the distance from the Fixture origin to the blob's centroid, from closest to furthest, in descending order.
- Angle (CCW) from Fixture Row Axis = Sorts by the angle (0 to 360°), as measured from the row image-axis of the Fixture to the line segment defined by the blob centroid and the Fixture origin, from closest to furthest, in descending order.
- Angular Distance = Sorts by the absolute value of the angle (-180 to 180°), as measured from the row image-axis of the Fixture to a line segment defined by the blob centroid and the Fixture origin, from closest to furthest.

Displays the X,Y coordinates and angle (always reported as 90° unless the Ignore Angle checkbox is disabled) of the centroid of the found blob, as well as its score.
