PatMax RedLine Pattern, PatMax Pattern, PatMax RedLine Patterns (1-10) and PatMax Patterns (1-10) Location Tools - Settings Tab
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the number of instances of the Model pattern to detect (1-10; default = 1). Most applications only require a single fixture, however, multiple instances of the Model pattern can be located, which is useful in applications where there is more than one part or object in the image. The more trained instances the tool is asked to identify, the longer the tool’s execution time.

Defines the degree of similarity that must exist between the Model pattern and the found pattern (0-100; default = 50). Found patterns above, or the equivalent of, the setting are considered a match. This tool executes faster with a higher setting, which also requires a greater degree of similarity between the Model and the found pattern. Lower settings allow for a higher likelihood of less accurate results, such as detection of patterns that are similar to, but not, the Model pattern.

Defines the minimum acceptable contrast that must be present in the found pattern; the contrast for a found pattern must be greater than the Contrast Threshold value to be considered a valid instance. The default value for PatMax RedLine Pattern(s) is 0, and the valid parameter range is 0-100. The default value for PatMax Pattern(s) is 10, and the valid parameter range is 0-255. A low Contrast Threshold value is used for low-contrast images, while a high Contrast Threshold value is used for high-contrast images.

Defines how far the found pattern can be rotated from the position of the Model pattern and still be recognized as a valid pattern (± 0-180°; default =15°).Allowing for a greater range of rotational variance of the pattern will increase the tool's execution time.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines the allowable percentage of scaling (size variations) between the found pattern and the Model pattern (0-50; default = 0). The value is a plus or minus percentage, e.g. a value of 5 will enable the tool to find patterns that are between 95% and 105% of the Model pattern’s size. Allowing for a greater range of scale variance of the pattern will increase the tool's execution time.

Defines the search mode used for training and recognizing patterns, PatMax or PatQuick.By default, PatMax is selected.PatMax offers higher accuracy than PatQuick, but requires more time to execute, while PatQuick offers lower accuracy than PatMax, but requires less time to execute.

Defines whether or not missing or occluded features of the found pattern will affect the score (default = Off, unchecked). When Strict Scoring is applied (On, checked), if features of the pattern are absent or blocked, the score of the found pattern will be lowered.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines whether or not found patterns can contain color-inverted match features , in respect to the Model pattern (default = Off, unchecked). When Ignore Polarity is applied (On, checked), detected patterns with color inverted features, such as black/white vs white/black in the Model pattern, for example, will be classified as matching the Model pattern.
![Closed](../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)
Defines how found patterns are sorted, Score (the default), X or Y.When Score is selected, the found patterns are sorted based upon their score, with the pattern receiving the highest score listed first, with subsequent patterns in descending order. When X is selected, the found patterns are sorted based on their distance from the X-axis, from closest to furthest, in descending order. When Y is selected, the found patterns are sorted based on their distance from the Y-axis, from closest to furthest, in descending order.

Defines a horizontal offset position (measured in pixels) from the found pattern's center, relative to the trained Model pattern. This allows you to assign coordinates away from the center of the Model pattern, which is useful for defining a pick point in vision guided robotics applications.

Defines a vertical offset position (measured in pixels) from the found pattern's center, relative to the trained Model pattern. This allows you to assign coordinates away from the center of the Model pattern, which is useful for defining a pick point in vision guided robotics applications.

Displays the X,Y coordinates of the found pattern's center and its angular orientation, as well as its comparative score to the Model pattern. If a Horizontal and/or Vertical Offset were applied, the X,Y coordinates will be adjusted by the amount specified in the offset fields.
- The PatMax RedLine Pattern and PatMax RedLine Patterns (1-10) Location Tools do not contain the Find Mode parameter.
- The Number to Find and Sort By parameters are only supported by the PatMax RedLine Patterns (1-10) and PatMax Patterns (1-10) Location Tools.
