Geometry Tools - Circle Fit
The Circle Fit Geometry Tool constructs a best-fit circle based on detected edges. The tool uses edge analysis Caliper arrays to precisely locate edge features. Once the edge has been identified, the tool constructs a best-fit circle over the edge feature. The tool then reports the radius of the best-fit circle and its center point.
Note:
- The tool reports results in pixels, unless the image was calibrated to real-world units in Set Up Image.
- All input values are in pixels, regardless if the tool was calibrated to real-world units.
The Circle Fit Geometry Tool is useful in situations where you want to ensure that your part or object has the same shape. This tool is capable of creating a more accurate, though slower, best-fit circle than the Circle From N Points Geometry Tool, for example.
