Measurement Tools - Min/Max Points

The Min/Max Points Measurement Tool measures the position of edges and determines which edge points are closest and furthest from either the found edge or the region defining the edge. The tool uses edge analysis Caliper arrays to precisely locate edge features. Once the edge has been identified, the tool constructs a best-fit line or circle (depending on whether or not there is a curve in the edge feature) over the edge feature. The tool then reports the edge points that are closest and furthest from the best-fit line or circle.

Note:
  • The tool reports results in pixels, unless the image was calibrated to real-world units in Set Up Image.
  • All input values are in pixels, regardless if the tool was calibrated to real-world units.

The Min/Max Points Measurement Tool is useful in situations where you want to ensure that your part or object doesn't have any edge features that deviate from their expected position. For example, if you want to make sure that the edge of a blade doesn't have any nicks or dents or any edge spurs.
