What is the default IP address of DataMan readers?
Answer
An out-of-the-box DataMan reader is set for DHCP. If DHCP server is not available, the reader will assign itself an IP address in the 169.254.x.x range with a subnet of 255.255.0.0.
A computer’s network adapter can be temporarily changed to use 169.254.100.100 with a subnet of 255.255.0.0 in order to establish an initial connection to the DataMan. Then, the user can change the DataMan’s network settings, reboot the DataMan, and change the network adapter back to the original network settings.
