Configuring the Format Input Bit/Word Data Tabs and the Format Output Bit/Word Data Tabs (CC-Link IE Field Basic)
The Format Input Bit Data, Format Input Word Data, Format Output Bit Data, and Format Output Word Data tabs are used to define the tool or job data that will be transferred to and from the Mitsubishi PLC/MC and the In-Sight vision system over the CC-Link IE Field Basic protocol.
- In this topic, an input is an input into the In-Sight vision system, and an output is an output from the vision system.
- For information on the PLC Memory Space (Signal Layout), please refer to CC-Link IE Field Network Basic Factory Interface.
Tab | PLC Memory Space | Starting Offset | Size Limitation (When Occupying 1 Station) |
Data Type |
---|---|---|---|---|
Format Input Bit Data | RY | 32 | 32 | bits |
Format Input Word Data | RWw | 2 | 30 | 16-bit words |
Format Output Bit Data | RX | 32 | 32 | bits |
Format Output Word Data | RWr | 5 | 27 | 16-bit words |
The Format Input Bit Data tab is used to associate bit offsets to Boolean data types returned by Location or Inspection Tool results, acquisition data or Inputs. A maximum of 32 inputs may be defined per job.
- Click on the Format Input Bit Data tab to begin configuring the data that will be transferred from the PLC/MC to the In-Sight vision system.
- Press the Add button to launch the Select Input Data dialog, which contains data from the job, such as any Location or Inspection Tools that were added to your job, acquisition data and Inputs. Select the data that you want transferred in to the In-Sight vision system from the PLC/MC, and press the OK button.
- Once you have added your data, the data will appear in the table, displaying the Device Address, name of the input, its data type, size and value.
- You can rearrange the order of the data that will be sent or received by selecting the data from the list and clicking either the Up or Down buttons to set the desired order.
The Format Input Word Data tab is used to define inputs to the In-Sight vision system returned by Location or Inspection Tool results, acquisition data or Inputs. A maximum of 30 inputs may be defined per job.
- Click on the Format Input Word Data tab to begin configuring the data that will be transferred from the PLC/MC to the In-Sight vision system.
- Press the Add button to launch the Select Input Data dialog, which contains data from the job, such as any Location or Inspection Tools that were added to your job, acquisition data and Inputs. Select the data that you want transferred in to the In-Sight vision system from the PLC/MC, and press the OK button.
- Once you have added your data, the data will appear in the table, displaying the Device Address (the beginning of the address is the field offset, in words), name of the input, its data type, size and value.
-
You can customize the default data type by selecting a different data type from the Data Type drop-down list.
Note:- If you select String from the Data Type drop-down list, the Element Size (words) control will be enabled and you can specify the string length by choosing the correct number of words (a maximum of 128).
- The EasyBuilder implementation of the CC-Link does not support 8-bit or unsigned data types.
- You can rearrange the order of the data that will be sent or received by selecting the data from the list and clicking either the Up or Down buttons to set the desired order.
The Format Output Bit Data tab is used to associate bit offsets to Boolean data types returned by Location or Inspection Tool results, acquisition data or job results. A maximum of 32 outputs may be defined per job.
- Click on the Format Output Bit Data tab to begin configuring the data that will be transferred from the In-Sight vision system to the PLC/MC.
-
Press the Add button to launch the Select Output Data dialog, which contains data from the job, such as any Location or Inspection Tools that were added to your job, acquisition data and the overall job results. Select the data that you want transferred from the In-Sight vision system to the PLC/MC, and press the OK button.
Note: By default, the Job.Inspection_Count data symbol is automatically added to the output data table. This symbol alerts the PLC/MC that the In-Sight vision system has acquired a new image and a new set of inspection results have arrived. This symbol can be removed if it is not necessary for the application. - Once you have added your data, the data will appear in the table, displaying the name, data type, size, value and the starting register number of the selected data. To the right of the table is a registers preview window, which displays how the data is formatted in to the PLC/MC registers.
- You can rearrange the order of the data that will be sent or received by selecting the data from the list and clicking either the Up or Down buttons to set the desired order.
The Format Output Word Data tab is used to define outputs from the In-Sight vision system returned by Location or Inspection Tool results, acquisition data or job results. A maximum of 27 outputs may be defined per job.
- Click on the Format Output Bit Data tab to begin configuring the data that will be transferred from the In-Sight vision system to the PLC/MC.

- Once you have added your data, the data will appear in the table, displaying the name, data type, size, value and the starting register number of the selected data (the beginning of the address is the field offset, in words).
