Locate Part

The Location Tools are used to define a feature in the image that provides positional data. The Location Tools create a Fixture, which is used to locate a part in the image quickly and reliably, even if the part being inspected rotates or appears in different locations in the image. For more information, see Fixture.

Note:
  • If your job does not require positional data, or your part will be presented to the In-Sight sensor in the same location in every image, see Inspect Part.
  • The In-Sight 2000-110 and 120/120C vision sensors allow you to add only one fixture to a job.
  • The Links tab is not supported on the In-Sight 2000 series vision sensors.

The Location tools report the following results:

In-Sight Models Results
In-Sight 2000-110 and 2000-120/120C Vision Sensors

Pass/Fail status only

In-Sight 2000-130/130C Vision Sensor

Pattern Location tool: Pass/Fail status and Pattern Score
Other Location tools: Pass/Fail status only

In-Sight Vision Systems (All Models) and In-Sight 2000 Series 23X Vision Sensors (23M, 230) Standard results (Positional Data and Pass/Fail status). The tool reports the results in pixels, unless the image was calibrated to real-world units in Set Up Image.
