PC Settings

The Playback button launches the Record/Playback Options dialog, which allows you to configure record and playback settings for individual vision systems and emulators. PC playback mode, which can be accessed while the vision system is Online or Offline, allows you to play back as many as 10,000 images to help validate a job; the image is sent to the vision system and the job runs against the image being played back. ClosedConfigure the Record Settings
Note: When color images are recorded to the PC, they are saved as 16-bit images, rather than 24-bit images. When color images need to be used for testing color tools, you can export the images via FTP (by adding an FTP device from the Communication Application Step) to save the images and maintain the full color depth.
  1. Click Playback in the PC Settings group box.
  2. In the Record/Playback Options dialog that appears, click the Record tab.
  3. Select the desired folder as the Record folder and configure the remaining record parameters.
  4. Once all Record settings have been specified, click OK to close the Record/Playback Options dialog.
ClosedRecord Images
  1. In the filmstrip, click the PC button.
  2. From the EasyBuilder toolbar, click the Record button.
  3. Trigger image acquisition on the vision system. As images are acquired, the pass and fail images are automatically sorted and stored to the specified folder.
  4. Click the Record button again to stop recording.
ClosedConfigure the Playback Settings
  1. Click Playback in the PC Settings group box.
  2. In the Record/Playback Options dialog that appears, click the Playback tab.

  3. Select the desired folder as the Playback folder and configure the remaining playback parameters.

    Note: The EasyBuilder sample jobs provide a powerful demonstration of the usefulness of the Record/Playback options. The Record/Playback options enable a series of previously acquired images to be cycled through, providing instantaneous feedback of tool results, allowing for quick configuration of thresholds and limits.   4. Once all Playback settings have been specified, click OK to close the Record/Playback Options dialog.
ClosedPlay Back Images from the PC
Note: To allow the playback of images when a vision system is in Online mode, the Trigger parameter in the Set Up Image Application Step must be set to External, Manual or Network.

  1. In the filmstrip, click the PC button.
  2. If the Trigger parameter (in the Set Up Image Application Step) is set to Camera or Continuous, place the vision system Offline to play back images. If the Trigger parameter is set to External, Manual or Network, the vision system can remain Online to play back images.

  3. In the filmstrip, click the Play button to play back the images or click the navigational buttons (shown below) to manually cycle through the images.

  4. Click the Run Job Applications Step to display the Results Table (or click the Results tab in the Palette).
