Establish a Unicast Implicit Connection - In-Sight 4.10.x Firmware

If the vision system has In-Sight 4.10.x firmware version installed, the following steps must be taken to transfer data between the In-Sight vision system and a ControlLogix or CompactLogix PLC on an EtherNet/IP network.

Note: The steps will vary depending on the version of RSLogix 5000 being used to program the PLC, and whether or not TestRun is enabled or disabled. For more information, see TestRun™.

TestRun Enabled and Add-On-Profile Previously Installed

  1. Establish the Connection Using a Generic ETHERNET-MODULE. For more information, see Establish the Connection Using a Generic ETHERNET-MODULE.

TestRun Enabled and Add-On-Profile Not Installed

  1. Install the EDS files included with In-Sight Explorer software. For more information, see Install the EDS Files.
  2. Establish the connection using the EDS generated profile. For more information, see Establish the Connection Using the EDS Generated Profile.

TestRun Disabled

  1. Establish the Connection Using the Add-On-Profile, with Keying Disabled. For more information, see Establish the Connection Using the Add-On Profile, with Keying Disabled.
