Communicating with Mitsubishi Devices

Mitsubishi PLC/ Motion Controller (MC): CC-Link, CC-Link IE Field Basic, SLMP and SLMP Scanner

To communicate with a Mitsubishi PLC/MC, first perform the following:

  1. In the Communications group box, press the Add Device button.
  2. In the Device Setup group box, from the Device drop-down list, select PLC/Motion Controller.
  3. From the Manufacturer drop-down list, select Mitsubishi.
  4. From the Protocol drop-down list, select your communication protocol: CC-Link, CC-Link IE Field Basic, SLMP or SLMP Scanner.

    Note: CC-Link is only available on In-Sight vision systems using In-Sight firmware 4.x.x, and is not available on In-Sight vision systems running In-Sight firmware 5.1.0 and later.
  5. Press the OK button.
  6. Optionally, click the Add Device button again to add an additional "secondary" protocol to the job. For more information, refer to the Supported Protocols section on Device Setup.

Once these settings are enabled, you can configure the settings for communicating with Mitsubishi PLC/MC devices:

Note: When an In-Sight vision system is configured to communicate with a PLC/MC over either SLMP, SLMP Scanner or CC-Link, the protocols only support the transfer of data between the vision system and the PLC/MC.

Mitsubishi Robot Controller - Ethernet Native String, Serial Native String, SLMP and SLMP Scanner

Note: The In-Sight 2000 series vision sensor does not support robot controllers.

To communicate with a Mitsubishi robot controller, first perform the following:

  1. In the Communications group box, press the Add Device button.
  2. In the Device Setup group box, from the Device drop-down list, select Robot.
  3. From the Manufacturer drop-down list, select Mitsubishi.
  4. From the Protocol drop-down list, select your communication protocol: Ethernet Native String,Serial Native String, SLMP or SLMP Scanner.
  5. Press the OK button.
  6. Optionally, click the Add Device button again to add an additional "secondary" protocol to the job. For more information, refer to the Supported Protocols section on Device Setup.
