Sensor Menu: Spreadsheet View

The Sensor menu allows you to configure settings and perform operations on the active vision system.

Note: The following options of the Sensor menu are available only when a Spreadsheet View is the active window.
  • Online: Toggles the Online/Offline state of the active vision system.
  • Network Settings: Opens the Network Settings dialog to configure the vision system to communicate on a TCP/IP network. For more information, see Network Settings Dialog.
  • Date/Time Settings: Opens the Date/Time Settings dialog, allowing you to adjust the current date or time, establish a time zone and configure SNTP servers for automatic time synchronization. For more information, see Date/Time Settings Dialog.
  • Host Table: Opens the Host Table dialog to specify a local mapping of network host names to IP addresses. This provides access to vision systems on a different subnet, as well as third-party FTP servers. For more information, see Host Table Dialog.
  • FTP Settings: Opens the FTP Settings dialog to configure the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) settings for communication with other devices. For more information, see FTP Settings Dialog.
  • Job Server Settings: Opens the Job Server Settings dialog to configure the vision system to access to an FTP server from which to load and save job files. For more information, see Job Server Settings Dialog.
  • Serial Port Settings: Configure the communication parameters for serial ports. For more information, see Serial Port Settings Dialog.
  • CC-Link Settings: Opens the CC-Link Settings dialog to configure CC-Link communications settings on a CIO-MICRO-CC I/O module. For more information, see CC-Link Settings Dialog.

Note: CC-Link is only available on In-Sight vision systems using In-Sight firmware 4.x.x, and is not available on In-Sight vision systems running In-Sight firmware 5.1.0 and later. For a complete list of models and supported firmware versions, see Firmware Versions.
  • Discrete I/O Settings: Configure the discrete input and output data lines. For more information, see Configure Discrete I/O Lines.
  • Light Settings: Opens the Light Settings dialog to configure lighting devices connected to the In-Sight 7000 series vision system. For more information, see Light Settings.
  • Audit Message Settings: Opens the Audit Message Settings dialog to enable or disable automatic audit messages for the active vision system, specify the IP address and TCP/IP port of the audit message server, and specify the types of events for which audit messages will be generated. For more information, see Audit Message Settings Dialog.
  • Line Scan Settings: Opens the Line Scan Settings dialog to configure settings on an In-Sight 5604 line scan vision system. For more information, see Line Scan Settings.
  • Startup: Configures the boot-time startup parameters, including Online/Offline status and which job to load on startup. For more information, see Startup Dialog.
  • User Access Settings: View or modify the access level permissions for users. For more information, see Startup Dialog.
  • HMI Settings: Opens the HMI Settings dialog to configure the number of the human machine interface (HMI) applications allowed to be connected, the HMI server and the HMI display options. For more information, see HMI Settings Dialog.
  • Image Settings: Opens the Image Settings dialog to configure the resolution and frame rate of Live and Online images and the default resolution of the vision system. For more information, see Image Settings Dialog.
  • Image Buffers: Opens the Image Buffers dialog to configure the number of image buffers allocated to the vision system at startup. For more information, see Image Buffers Dialog.
  • Sensor Filmstrip Settings: Opens the Sensor Filmstrip Settings dialog to configure the type of results stored to the vision system, the number of results stored to the vision system, the factors that determine the pass or fail status of the results and the behavior of the filmstrip when a failing result is encountered. Sensor Filmstrip Settings Dialog.
  • RAM Disk Settings: Opens the RAM Disk Settings dialog to enable and configure a vision system or emulator's RAM Disk folder, which can then be used to store and share data such as jobs, images or cell data (when used in conjunction with either the Export Cell/Import Cell dialogs, the Snippet dialog or the ExportData/ImportData functions). For more information, see RAM Disk Settings Dialog.
  • Active Cells Limit: Opens the Active Cells Limit dialog to configure the number of available spreadsheet cells. For more information, see Active Cells Limit Dialog.
  • Profile Job: Opens the Profiler for benchmarking cell execution times. For more information, see Profile Job Dialog.
  • Job Pass/Fail: Opens the Job Pass/Fail Setup dialog to select a cell to monitor that determines the job's overall pass/fail status, which can be sent as an output from the vision system to other applications, such as the Cognex VisionView. For more information, see Job Pass/Fail Cell Setup Dialog.
  • TestRun: Opens the TestRun Setup dialog to configure TestRun tests, and also allows a TestRun test to be initiated, repairing a broken value or test, importing and exporting tests and launching a new test. For more information, see TestRun™.
    • New: Clears the previously created TestRun test.
    • Configure: Launches the TestRun Setup dialog to configure and edit TestRun tests.
