X/Y Scale, Edge to Edge, X/Y Edge to Edge and Circle Calibration Types

Used when you know the X and Y scale values for calculating a simple calibration.

1. Select X/Y Scale from the Calibration Type drop-down menu.
2. From the Units drop-down menu, select the real world units (Microns, Millimeters, Centimeters or Inches).
3. In the Horizontal Scale parameter, enter the horizontal scale value (0 to 9,999,999)
4. In the Vertical Scale parameter, enter the vertical scale value (0 to 9,999,999).
5. The calibration will be applied as soon as this option is selected and the values are configured.

Used when you know the distance between two edge features.

1. Select Edge to Edge from the Calibration Type drop-down menu.
2. Press the Select Edges button; EasyBuilder will examine your image and give you a selection of Smart Features that it has automatically detected (highlighted in cyan).
3. First select one Smart Feature from the available features by clicking on it, at which point its color will change to magenta and a line will extend out from that feature.

4. Next, select the second Smart Feature.

   Note: If the features you want to use are not automatically found by EasyBuilder, uncheck the Smart Features checkbox and position the region over the feature that you want to define instead.
5. Press the OK button to define your features.
6. From the Units drop-down menu, select the real world units (Microns, Millimeters, Centimeters or Inches).
7. Enter the known, real world measurement of the feature into the Dimension field.
8. Press the Calibrate button to finalize the calibration process. The results of Location and Inspection Tools will now appear in real-world units.

Used when you know the distance between two edge pairs; one in the horizontal direction, and another in the vertical direction. Combining the horizontal measurement and dimension with the vertical measurement and dimension creates two independent scales.

1. Select X/Y Edge to Edge from the Calibration Type drop-down menu.
2. Press the Define Horizontal Measurement button; EasyBuilder will examine your image and give you a selection of Smart Features that it has automatically detected (highlighted in cyan).
3. First select one Smart Feature from the available features by clicking on it, at which point its color will change to magenta and a line will extend out from that feature.

4. Next, select the second Smart Feature.

   Note: If the features you want to use are not automatically found by EasyBuilder, uncheck the Smart Features checkbox and position the region over the feature that you want to define instead.
5. Press the OK button to define your features.
6. Press the Define Vertical Measurement button; EasyBuilder will examine your image and give you a selection of Smart Features that it has automatically detected (highlighted in cyan).
7. First select one Smart Feature from the available features by clicking on it, at which point its color will change to magenta and a line will extend out from that feature.
8. Next, select the second Smart Feature.
9. Press the OK button to define your features.
10. From the Units drop-down menu, select the real world units (Microns, Millimeters, Centimeters or Inches).
11. Enter the known, real world horizontal dimension of the feature into the Horizontal Dimension field.
12. Enter the known, real-world vertical dimension of the feature into the Vertical Dimension field.
13. Press the Calibrate button to finalize the calibration process. The results of Location and Inspection Tools will now appear in real-world units.

Used when you know the diameter of a circular feature.

1. Select Circle from the Calibration Type drop-down menu.
2. Press the Select Circle button; EasyBuilder will examine your image and give you a selection of Smart Features that it has automatically detected (highlighted in cyan).

3. Select one Smart Feature from the available features by clicking on it, at which point its color will change to magenta.

   Note: If the features you want to use are not automatically found by EasyBuilder, uncheck the Smart Features checkbox and position the region over the feature that you want to define instead.
4. Press the OK button to define your feature.
5. From the Units drop-down menu, select the real world units (Microns, Millimeters, Centimeters or Inches).
